Caitlyn Jenner defends Kendall’s Pepsi commercial

Caitlyn Jenner has defended her daughter Kendall’s controversial Pepsi commercial, but managed to land herself in even hotter water.

In an interview with Andy Cohen, Kendall’s TV advert, which was pulled after it received serious backlash, came up in conversation.

“Oh god you have to bring it all up don’t you, all of the controversy?” Caitlyn said, before saying something that may offend a lot of people.

“She went down – shes a model – went down and spent a couple of days, it was shot over in the Orient or something like that.”

Using the word “oriental” may come across as derogatory towards Asian people, and Barack Obama even banned the use of the word in any laws in 2015, replacing it with Asian Americans.

“Kendall’s Pepsi commercial, I saw it, I looked at it and said ‘that is so cool’, it talks about joining the conversation, it was cute, I didn’t see all of the other things that I guess some other people saw,” she continued.

“I felt sorry for Kendall, Pepsi tested the commercial and it had like 72 percent likes, but there was a small portion out there that obviously was very verbal, and then the media’s going to jump all over that and they pulled it.”

The reality star also implied that Kendall read the script beforehand, despite the model’s reps saying otherwise.

“Kendall said ‘I’m a model, they hired me to go do this, I looked at the script and it looked pretty cool to me’,” she added.
