Britney Spears’ longtime manager ‘resigns’ amid conservatorship battle

Britney Spears’ longtime manager Larry Rudolph has reportedly resigned.

The 57-year-old reportedly sent his official letter of resignation to Britney’s co-conservators Jamie Spears and Jodi Montgomery on Monday, following the pop star’s recent court hearing regarding her conservatorship.

The letter, published by Deadline, reads: “It has been over 2 1/2 years since Britney and I last communicated, at which time she informed me she wanted to take an indefinite work hiatus.”

“Earlier today, I became aware that Britney had been voicing her intention to officially retire.”

“As you know, I have never been a part of the conservatorship nor its operations, so I am not privy to many of these details. I was originally hired at Britney’s request to help manage and assist her with her career.”

“And as her manager, I believe it is in Britney’s best interest for me to resign from her team as my professional services are no longer needed. Please accept this letter as my formal resignation.”

“I will always be incredibly proud of what we accomplished over our 25 years together. I wish Britney all the health and happiness in the world, and I’ll be there for her if she ever needs me again, just as I always have been.”

Larry’s resignation comes just days after Bessemer Trust officially resigned as co-conservator of Britney’s estate.

The wealth management firm was appointed co-conservator of Britney’s estate in November last year – alongside her father Jamie

Britney was placed under a conservatorship after she suffered an alleged breakdown back in 2008.

A conservatorship is granted to those who are incapable of making decisions, such as people with mental disabilities.

The arrangement put her estate, financial assets, and some personal assets under the control of her father Jamie, and lawyer Andrew Wallet – who has since resigned from the role.

The 39-year-old’s conservatorship has been under review since 2019 after she accused her father of forcing her to enter a mental health facility.

During a landmark court hearing on June 23, Britney called for an end to her 13-year conservatorship, which she branded “abusive”.

Judge Brenda Penny denied Britney’s request to remove her father from her conservatorship.
