Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga’s film, A Star Is Born, is set for release later this year.
Bradley stars as seasoned musician Jackson Maine, who discovers-and falls in love with-struggling artist Ally, played by Lady Gaga.
Speaking about his upcoming film at the Tribeca film festival during a Facebook Live, Bradley revealed that Lady Gaga insisted that he sing everything live while filming.
Gaga told him, “I’m gonna rely on you to get a performance that’s honest out of me, and I’m gonna make sure that you’re going to turn into a musician, because we’re going to sing everything live.”
The actor said, “I went, ‘Wait, what?” She’s right’.”
“You can’t hide when you sing. The best way to express love is through singing and music. I knew if I could marry that in a way, it would be special,” he added.
Robert De Niro, who has starred in a number of films alongside Bradley, also praised the actor for learning to sing for the role.
“Bradley learned to sing, he is terrific. He really worked hard and it paid off, you see all the hard work he did, it’s special. I hope it gets the attention I feel it should when it opens.”
The film’s synopsis read, “Seasoned musician Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper) discovers-and falls in love with-struggling artist Ally (Gaga). She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer – until Jack coaxes her into the spotlight.”
“But even as Ally’s career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jack fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.”
The film is set for release on October 5th, 2018.
