Brad Pitt reveals secret struggle with rare neurological disorder

Brad Pitt has revealed he struggles with a rare disorder which affects his ability to recognise people’s faces.

Although he has never been diagnosed, the 58-year-old believes he has prosopagnosia, an uncommon neurological condition that triggers face blindness.

Speaking to GQ, the actor said he struggles in social settings, especially at parties when he tries to remember new people.

Brad admitted he fears that it makes him come across as “remote, aloof, inaccessible” and “self-absorbed.”

“Nobody believes me! I wanna meet another,” he told author Ottessa Moshfegh when she revealed her husband believes he has the same condition.

Speaking to Esquire back in 2013 about his alleged condition, Brad said, “So many people hate me because they think I’m disrespecting them.”

“Every now and then, someone will give me context, and I’ll say, ‘Thank you for helping me.’ But I piss more people off,” he explained.

“You get this thing, like, ‘You’re being egotistical. You’re being conceited.’ But it’s a mystery to me, man.”

“I can’t grasp a face, and yet I come from such a design/aesthetic point of view. I am going to get it tested.”
