Brad Pitt opens up about Angelina Jolie split as he admits to ‘boozing too much’

Brad Pitt has finally opened up about his split from Angelina Jolie, and also admitted that he drinks too much.

The 53-year-old got candid in a new interview with GQ Style magazine, in which he revealed that he’s been receiving help for his mental health since his estranged wife Angelina filed for divorce back in August 2016.

“I famously step in s*** – at least for me it seems pretty epic,” he explained.

“I often wind up with a smelly foot in my mouth. I often say the wrong thing, often in the wrong place and time … I’m trying to get better. I’m really trying to get better.”

“You know, I just started therapy. I love it, I love it. I went through two therapists to get to the right one.”

The Hollywood star also admitted to relying on drugs and alcohol in previous years – and revealed that his “boozing” has become a problem – especially in the past year while dealing with his split from Angelina.

“I can’t remember a day since I got out of college when I wasn’t boozing or had a spliff, or something,” he said.

“I stopped everything except boozing when I started my family. But even this last year, you know – things I wasn’t dealing with. I was boozing too much. It’s just become a problem.”

Changes: Brad wants to be a better father to his kids | HELLO!

Brad also said that he wants to be a better father, and admitted that his divorce felt like death.

“Kids are so delicate. They absorb everything. They need to have their hand held and things explained. They need to be listened to.

“When I get in that busy work mode, I’m not hearing. I want to be better at that. I gotta be more. I gotta be more for them. I have to show them. And I haven’t been great at it,” he said when speaking about his six children.

“‘If you love someone, set them free.’ Now I know what it means, by feeling it,” Brad said about Angelina.

“It means to love without ownership. It means expecting nothing in return. It doesn’t mean f***-all to me until, you know. Until you live it.”

The interview accompanied a cover shoot, in which Brad looked particularly gaunt.

It’s his first public interview since the news of his divorce broke.
