Ashlee Simpson reveals ‘Boyfriend’ was about Lindsay Lohan and Wilmer Valderrama

Ashlee Simpson has revealed that her song ‘Boyfriend’ was about Lindsay Lohan and Wilmer Valderrama.

The singer appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and finally put the long debate to rest.

On the show, Andy asked the 33-year-old: “In your 2005 song ‘Boyfriend,’ there were rumours that the lyrics ‘I didn’t steal your boyfriend,’ …was allegedly about you not stealing Wilmer Valderrama from Lindsay Lohan. Is that true, and how would you characterise your relationship with Lindsay?”

Bravo

Her husband, Evan Ross, was sitting beside her and answered: “I think I know the answer.”

“I mean, I hung out with [Valderrama] first, and I wasn’t interested in him at that point. And we’re great! All is well. By the way, they’re the best,” Ashlee said.

The presenter then asked the singer if she stole Wilmer from Lindsay, to which she responded: “I didn’t. I was done. But all love here.”

This is the first time Ashlee has admitted that the song was about Lindsay, as she denied the rumours for many years and previously told MTV: “It’s not about one person in particular, it’s just something every girl can relate to. It’s a song about [how] every girl out there sometimes thinks you stole her boyfriend. It’s just making fun of that.”
