Ariana Grande’s fiancé Pete Davidson slammed for making ‘sick’ joke about Manchester terror attack

The comedian made the joke just five months after the devastating blast

Ariana Grande’s fiancé Pete Davidson has been slammed for joking about the Manchester terror attack.

Last May, 22 people were killed by a suicide bomber at Ariana’s concert in Manchester, and five months later – SNL comedian Pete made a joke about it at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles.

The 24-year-old, who famously jokes about the fact that his fireman dad died in the Twin Towers attack back in 2001, said Ariana must have realised how famous she had become because “Britney Spears didn’t have a terrorist attack at her concert”.

On onlooker at the stand-up gig told the Mirror, “It drew gasps from the crowd and everyone squirmed in their seats, the event five months earlier was still pretty fresh, and there were plenty of British tourists in the crowd.”

Charlotte Hodgson, who lost her 15-year-old daughter Olivia Campbell-Hardy in the attack, has since slammed Pete for his comments.

She said, “For anyone to joke about this situation is disgusting and I think he should publicly apologise for it.

“The families will find it equally as disgusting. We don’t need jokes about it, there have been plenty around, and it’s heartbreaking to hear every day.

“But for someone so famous to be doing it and now to be with Ariana, it’s outrageous. I think she would be horrified too,” she added.

Meanwhile 30-year-old Jade Clough, who survived the Manchester attack, said, “I think it’s absolutely disgusting, I’m shocked.”

“This isn’t something to joke about, it was a terrorist attack targeted at children. You don’t joke about things like that in a stand-up comedy show.

“I’m still suffering on a daily basis, I still have nightmares, and Ariana herself has suffered from PTSD. What the hell?”

Jade suffered nerve damage after a bolt from the blast severed tendons in her foot, and she’s had to undergo therapy.

Ariana and Pete have hit headlines in recent weeks for their whirlwind romance.

The pair, who met in 2016 when she hosted Saturday Night Live, got engaged after just a few weeks of dating – and have since moved into their own place in New York.

The news comes just weeks after Ariana revealed that she suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder after the terror attack.
