Ariana Grande has admitted that her relationship with Mac Miller was “toxic”.
The pair’s split was reported earlier this month, and fans were left heartbroken by the news.
However, the singer has since explained the reason why she broke up with him after a fan slammed her for dumping him on Twitter.
The fan tweeted, “Mac Miller totalling his G wagon and getting a DUI after Ariana Grande dumped him for another dude after he poured his heart out on a ten song album to her called the divine feminine is just the most heartbreaking thing happening in Hollywood.”
“I’m so excited for the music though and idk if that makes me a bad person or soulless to realize great songs come from his pain but like I’m down for an album to drop.”
Much to their surprise, Ariana responded directly, and said, “How absurd that you minimize female self-respect and self-worth by saying someone should stay in a toxic relationship because he wrote an album about them, which btw isn’t the case (just Cinderella is ab me).”
She continued, “I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be. I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years (and always will of course) but shaming/blaming women for a man’s inability to keep his s*** together is a very major problem.”

“Let’s please stop doing that. Of course I didn’t share about how hard or scary it was while it was happening but it was. I will continue to pray from the bottom of my heart that he figures it all out and that any other woman in this position does as well,” she added.
The fan then apologised to Ariana, and she replied, “Thank you for hearing me, I appreciate your response v much. Sending u love.”
Following the news of her split from Mac, the rapper was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving in Los Angeles last week.Â
Ariana is now said to be dating SNL comedian Pete Davidson, and it looks like they have matching tattoos.Â
