Anna Wintour gives Beyoncé unprecedented control over September issue of Vogue

The September issue of Vogue has always been the most influential edition of the magazine.

And this year – Editor in Chief of the the fashion magazine, Anna Wintour, has given Beyoncé unprecedented control.

To photograph the cover, Beyoncé hired 23-year-old photographer Tyler Mitchell, making him the first photographer of colour to shoot a Vogue cover since the magazine’s founding in 1926.

As part of Beyoncé’s contract, she is also allowed to select which photos of her are published inside the magazine.

The singer also wrote her own captions in long form, according to the Huffington Post.

Beyoncé last appeared on the cover of Vogue back in 2015, and it was shot by Mario Testino.
