America’s Got Talent contestant killed in car crash aged 29

A promising America’s Got Talent contestant has died at the age of 29.

Dr. Brandon Rogers was tragically involved in a car accident in Maryland on Saturday and passed away in hospital the following day, TMZ revealed.

Rogers’ episode of America’s Got Talent was due to air in July, and production sources told the publication that they have not yet made a decision on whether it will still run.

The aspiring singer was discovered by producers after they saw him singing Boyz II Men’s On Bended Knee in an Instagram video.

The band themselves had also seen Rogers’ cover and invited him to perform on tour with them earlier this year.

After news of his death was revealed, they paid tribute on Instagram, sharing, “Today our hearts are deeply saddened to learn about the sudden death of Dr. Brandon Rogers.

“A few months back we brought this young man out to the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas to perform with us. He was great all 3 nights! Just a genuinely nice person and a really good singer! Gone too young and gone too soon.

“It hurts to know that the world will never have a chance to witness what his impact on the world could have been as a Doctor and even on the music world. A great spirit and a great voice.”

They added: “Even for the little time we knew you you will be sorely missed. May God Bless, keep and comfort your family in this difficult time.”
