A$AP Rocky breaks his silence after being found guilty of assault in Sweden

The rapper has admitted that he's "disappointed"

A$AP Rocky has broken his silence, after being found guilty of assault in Sweden.

The rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was given a suspended sentence, after he already spent a month in custody in Stockholm.

Speaking out for the first time since he was found guilty, the 30-year-old wrote on Instagram: “I am of course disappointed by today’s verdict.”

“I want to say thanks again to all of my fans, friends, and everyone who showed me love during this difficult time.”

“Imma keep moving forward. Thank you to my team, my management, attorneys, label and everyone who advocated for justice.”

Rocky has been ordered to pay damages to the 19-year-old man who accused him of assault.

Two members of Rocky’s entourage, Bladimir Corniel and David Rispers, were also found guilty of the same charge.

ASAP Rocky and his co-defendants claimed they had been acting in self-defence against two men who had been following their group.

But the court said the three were “not in a situation where they were entitled to self-defence” and wrote in its verdict that they “assaulted the victim by hitting and kicking him as he lay on the ground.”
