Beetlejuice lips are the latest makeup trend to go viral on TikTok.
The ‘Beetlejuice lips’ trend is sweeping TikTok as fans of the recently released Beetlejuice Beetlejuice movie embrace the quirky makeup look.
The trend is being praised as it highlights the natural creases of your lips.

In a video that’s garnered over 41 million views and 4 million likes, beauty creator Adrianna Kalisz introduces the two-toned lipstick look.
Adrianna paints her lips with chartreuse green eye paint while Beetlejuice The Musical’s “Say My Name” plays in the background.
She then purses her lips and delicately applies black powder eyeshadow to the folds.

She flashes a smile and reveals a black-on-green zebra pattern.
This application technique was first shared online and was dubbed “zebra lips” by Portuguese beauty designer Luara Reisinger.
Adrianna acknowledges the look’s popularity and gives Laura credit in her caption.
The cracked effect is reminiscent of the vertical stripes of Beetlejuice’s iconic suit.

Several other beauty artists rapidly copied the original video, but something was evident.
If a creator has lip filler, the technique turns out sloppy or doesn’t work.
The creator needs deep, natural lip creases for the eye shadow to settle around and create a defined contrast.
Those essential creases are smoothed out with lip filler.

Influencer Jeffree Star’s attempt at Beetlejuice lips is the most well-known failed example; it has received over 25 million views and almost 2 million likes.
Instead of striking bold stripes, his lips stayed a pale shade of black.
After he saw that the strategy was ineffective, Jeffrey asked: “Um, have we been duped? Oh my god.”
“The most popular remark on his post was: “I think it’s because you have lip filler, so your lip creases aren’t as deep and obvious. ”
In response, Jeffree said: “Hahaha, facts.”

Makeup mogul Jaclyn Hill commented on Jefree’s post: “It’s because of lip filler! I had mine dissolved, and now all my lip wrinkles are back!”
A London-based makeup artist posted a video stating, “My new guilty pleasure is watching beauty influencers with too much lip filler try Beetlejuice lips.”
Robbie Roe, a 28-year-old graphic designer and touring musician, posted a similar video after seeing Star’s video: “Over the last year especially, I’ve been noticing a lot more beauty influencers getting a lot of work done, and creating this unattainable look, and then using it to sell products to people.”
In the video they say, “There’s something kind of beautiful about there being a beauty trend that’s only for people who don’t have fillers … Maybe this lays the groundwork for more beauty trends that utilize the totally natural creases and lines of our faces.”
