Wanting to get ahead of the pack, knocked into celebrity nail stylist Michele Burke who gave use the inside scoop on how to be styling your mitts this season.

Looking after the very well manicured talons of Rosanna Davison, Vogue Williams, Pippa O’Connor and model Aoife Walsh to name but a few – the nail guru to the stars broke down the trends we should follow this season.

Going from catwalk to salon, Michele told us it’s all about a pop of colour this summer.

The celebrity manicurist told this seasons big colour trends are a mix of neon and pastel shades with a heavy focus on “bright bubblegum pinks to candy greens”.

“Summer is the perfect season to experiment with brighter colours and even optic white – extra fabulous with a holiday glow,” she admitted.

Nail art

The nail wizard revealed festival style has a huge influence on nail trends admitting your talons are just as important as your outfit.

Glitter, jewels or foils, Michele says to customise nail art to suit your personality when it comes to a big summer event.

“You can really have fun with festival nails; add glitter, foils, jewels – your manicure is as much as an accessory as your jewellery,” she said.

Colour and nail art aren’t the only trends that change with the seasons but also nail shape.

The Dundrum based nail stylist admitted shape depends on a client’s natural nails.

However, the award-winning nail technician did reveal the soft square shape still seems to be a classic choice for short nails.

Meanwhile those who love a little more length – longer talons, almond and stiletto are still top shapes for this season.
