King Kylie has taken over my Snapchat feed, my news feed on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, and now she’s made a full-time move into my makeup bag.
Like most girls in the world I have been waiting and waiting for Kylie’s Lip Kits to come back in stock on her website kyliecosmetic.com and last week I got through just on time and after minutes and minutes of pressing the refresh button (just take my payment god damn it) I finally got the message ‘Thanks Ali, your order has been accepted’.
It might sound like a small triumph but it made my week, my month probably, because I have been trying the Lip Kit for myself.
Here are the things I truly love about my Dolce K.
The Packaging
It’s so important to have cute packaging and for your product design to stand out – and Kylie’s Lip Kit does exactly that.
The box your gloss and lip liner comes in is designed in the same design as the range, with gloss dripping down the box in black.
Before I even opened my box of treats, I felt satisfied.
Inside the box there is a little note for everyone, clearly there are thousands of these being sent out but it’s clear that Kylie wants to make her fans feel special, and it works.
And look at the official Lip Kit box, to die for right?
The Colour
The first thing I looked at was how dark Dolce K actually was.
While I know most people have been buying the Candy K, I wanted a more chocolate colour, and Dolce K is exactly that.
The lip pencil and the gloss are the exact same tone, just use the liner to outline the shape of your lips and the gloss will do the rest.
The Matte Look
I was hoping the Kylie Lip Kit would be everything I would hope it would be.
As someone who truly is obsessed with Kylie’s lips, I wanted a dark plump look and that’s exactly what I got.
The gloss dries instantly and you’re left with a dry matte look immediately, and trust me when I say the gloss or the pencil doesn’t stain at all.
I drank out of a glass seconds after I applied Dolce K and there were no lip prints on the glass.
The Lasting Power
I had read a few reviews online saying they liked how long the Kylie Lip Kit lasted – but I was shocked by how long it really stayed.
The day I got Dolce K I had to attend that night, so I decided not to top up my lips for the entire evening.
Everyone I spoke to on the night were shocked when I told them I hadn’t topped up my lips, and everyone was fawning over the Lip Kit itself.
Nothing annoys me more than spending money on a product and then having to re-apply constantly, meaning you’ll run out of the product before you know it.
This will not happen with the Kylie Lip Kit.
The Taste
I mentioned that Dolce K has a chocolate colour to it and it has a chocolate taste to.
So not only does this product give you the perfect colour, matte look and can transition from day to night, it also tastes delicious.
Every time I apply the gloss I want to eat it, and I’ve never found that with a gloss.
Final Verdict
The Kylie Lip Kit is everything I hoped it would be, and I’m probably already wearing it too much but I don’t care, I could live in this kit.
With the announcement that Kylie is launching three new glosses, I’m already getting ready to purchase the next lot.
