U2 rake in $133 million ticket sales on world tour

U2 have made over $133 million in ticket sales on their sell-out iNNOCENCE+eXPERIENCE world tour this year.

The figures released from Billboard for global ticket sales from November last year to November this year, showed that U2 were topped by Taylor Swift in the number one spot, followed by One Direction.

Taylor made $217,437,974 million, while 1D made $208,008,704 million, and then U2 followed behind with $133,614,474 million.

The top five was then completed with The Rolling Stones hitting $131,460,125 million, and US country singer Kenny Chesney raking in $114,094,584 million.

U2 also landed on Billboard’s top 25 Boxscores for their eight-night gig in Madison Square Garden in July, which took in a huge $19,474,285 from almost 150,000 audience members.

The band’s last tour, U2 360° which took place between 2009 and 2011 still remains the highest-grossing tour of all time, taking in $736,421,586.
