This is how to get Saoirse Ronan's 1960's themed hair from the Met Gala

It wasn’t all about Saoirse Ronan’s Christopher Kane gown at this year’s Met Gala but her simple ponytail.

The Hollywood actress was preened and pampered by stylist to the stars Ted Gibson, who wanted to keep her look chic to balance the feathered ensemble.

“It started off in one direction — and went to another place. That’s the drama of last minute hair,” he told People Magazine.

Taking references from 1960’s glamour, Ted initially twisted her hair into a chignon before altering it to the sleek ponytail with the help of a number of products available to us in store.

The famed hairstylist used Runway Ready Volume Mist from his Starring hair care line, volumising mousse from Kérastase and L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil on Ronan’s damp hair – before hair drying it with a medium size round brush.

Ted then smoothed Saoirse’s hair with a straightner and finished the look off by wrapping a piece of her hair around the base of the ponytail.
