The Dublin premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens was on last night in the Savoy Cinema on O’Connell Street, and plenty of Irish stars graced the red carpet.
The much-anticipated latest installment of the sci-fi series stars our very own Domhnall Gleeson, and has already received rave reviews worldwide.
Well-known faces spotted at the premiere included Baz Ashmawy, Liam Cunningham, Dermot Whelan, and Blathnaid Treacy among others.

The film, which also stars Harrison Forde and Carrie Fisher, is a continuation of the saga created by George Lucas and is set thirty years after Star Wars: Episode VI – Â Return of the Jedi (1983).
The J.J. Abrams directed film is a huge role for Domhnall Gleeson, who plays villain General Hux in the flick, and Domhnall recently revealed that before taking on the role he binge watched the original films in a private Dublin cinema.Â
Domhnall also brought along his father Brendan and his pal Love/Hate’s Laurence Kinlan to the world premiere of the film in Hollywood on Monday night.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is available to see in theatres across Ireland from today, December 17.
