Saoirse Ronan and Michael Fassbender miss out on Critics Choice Awards

Saoirse Ronan and Michael Fassbender have missed out on Critics Choice Awards.

Sadly losing stream continues for the pair after they both lost out on a Golden Globe earlier this month.

Carlow beauty Saoirse faced stiff competition in the Best Actress category for her role in Brooklyn but ultimately lost to favourite Brie Larson for her performance in Lenny Abrahamson’s Room.

However yesterday Saoirse was named the British/Irish actress of the year at the London Critics’ Circle Film Awards.

Meanwhile, Kerry native Michael was nominated in the Best Actor category for his performance as Steve Jobs in the biopic of the same name.

Unfortunately, the 38-year-old lost out on the honour to award season favourite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Revenant.

However it wasn’t all bad news as Domhnall Gleeson’s flick Ex Machina picked up Best Sci-fi / Horror film at the event.

While Jacob Tremblay picked up Best Young Actor/Actress for his turn as Jack in Irish directed and produced movie Room.
