RTE's Louise McSharry reveals chemo sessions leave her with 'three day hangover'

2FM presenter Louise McSharry has described life-saving chemotherapy as leaving her feeling hungover for three days after each session.

The RTE star has started sessions to fight lymphomia, which is cancer of the white blood cells.

Now Louise – who is being replaced by Eoghan McDermott for her time away – has admitted she wishes the hangover came after actually drinking.

She said: “In case anyone was wondering, at its kindest, chemo basically gives you a three day hangover without any of the joy of actually getting drunk and having fun.

She added: “Although its life-saving capabilities are said to be worthwhile.”

Brave Louise also showed off her newly shaved head on Instagram, adding: “Hair today, gone tomorrow!”

And Louise – who insisted she would survive the battle – even wondering if it was similar to having a child.

She said: “I actually wondered today if this is a little bit like what pregnancy can feel like!”
