Roz Purcell shows off her dancing skills in Operation Transformation

Roz Purcell has put on her dancing shoes for Operation Transformation this week, visiting her old school in Clonmel as part of the It’s Your Move campaign.

The former Miss Universe Ireland will lead schoolgirls from her old school in a routine for the campaign, that is aimed specifically at girls at Secondary School level.

“To be able to go back to my school and do that was very special. A lot of girls do take up team sports but at around that age they tend to drop it for other ‘more important’ things like being popular and boys!

Feels like home: Roz returned to her old school for Operation Transformation

“It is nice to go back and show them that keeping up fitness is such an important thing,” she said, following her visit to the Loreto Convent in Clonmel.

It is estimated that 80 percent of young girls are not getting enough exercise, with some inactive for as much as 20 hours a day, and Operation Transformation is trying to tackle the issue with It’s Your Move – by encouraging young girls to stay active by doing what comes naturally to them: dancing.

Hip Hop sensations Raw Edge Crew have created a dance fitness workout for the show and every week, Operation Transformation is bringing a celebrity back to their old school to help put the girls of First to Sixth Year through their paces.
