Ronan Keating admits he WON'T be doing another musical – as he recalls Moulin Rouge audition

Ronan Keating has revealed he has no interest in doing another musical – despite his success in West End show Once.

The Boyzone star has been starring as Guy in the musical inspired by the Oscar-winning movie, but has said he doesn’t want to do another musical.

“I don’t think I’d do a musical again,” he admitted. “Unless it was something as good as Once which was ideal.”

“Your social life, everything goes out the window, you have to very disciplined, there’s no going out to clubs, you can’t be talking after the show,” he explained.

Ronan made the comments while reminiscing about his Moulin Rouge audition.

The Dublin star was up against Leonardo DiCaprio and Ewan McGregor – who eventually one the part.

Ronan Keating has revealed he auditioned alongside Leonardo DiCaprio for the lead role in Moulin Rouge.

“The director Baz Luhrmann flew me to New York and I was there with DiCaprio and McGregor and these cats,” he told Eoghan McDermot on 2FM.

“I met Leo, we were playing cards together last year in Sydney together and I said to him, ‘mate you’ll never remember this, but we both auditioned together for Moulin Rouge’ and he goes ‘I remember!’

“And I said ‘Oh man, my acting was shite.’  And he said ‘don’t worry about it, so was my singing.'”
