Well-known faces and Ireland’s favourite authors lined out for the Bord Gais Energy Irish Books Awards last night.
A host of debut novels were nominated this year, including Pippa O’Connor’s new book, Pippa: Simple Tips To Live Beautifully and Roz Purcell’s cookbook Natural Born Feeder.
However, it was The Happy Pear boys that won in the Cookbook Of The Year category, for their cookbook The World Of Happy Pear.

MMA coach John Kavanagh, who wore a smart tux, was nominated for his book Win Or Learn for Sports Book Of The Year – but it was Paul O’Connell’s The Battle that took home the prize in the end.
Cecelia Ahern was nominated in two categories, Children’s Book Of The Year for Flawed, and Popular Fiction Book Of The Year for Lyrebird.
Everyone’s favourite chat show host Graham Norton was also there on the night, who took home the award for Popular Fiction Book Of The Year for his debut novel Holding.
