The cast, including Irish actors Barry Ward and Simone Kirby, swapped the wilds of Leitrim and Sligo where they spent seven weeks shooting the film for the glitzy red carpet at the Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin.

Jimmy’s Hall is based on the true story of Jimmy Gralton, who was deported by Eamon de Valera in the 1930s for alleged communist sympathies.

A special fundraising screen of the film will take place in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, tonight.
