Presenter Ray Foley leaves 98FM

Popular presenter Ray Foley has announced that he’s leaving Dublin radio station 98FM, and will present his final show with the station on Christmas Eve.

The Mayo native, who hosted The Ray Foley Show every weekday morning, has made the decision to leave the station after three years to concentrate on other projects.

“98FM has been a big part of my life for the past three years. I’ve been lucky to work with a really fantastic team each morning, and I would like to thank them for everything,” Ray said in a statement.

“With the end of the year just around the corner, the time feels right to make a change and I’m looking forward to new challenges and focusing on other things in 2016.”

The Chief Executive of 98FM, Keith McCormack, also released a statement and said: “On behalf of everyone here at 98FM I would like to thank Ray for his hard work and dedication to the station over the past three years.

“We will be launching a new show – ‘98FM’s Big Breakfast’ in January, which will continue to focus on playing the great music our listeners love and we will be announcing full details of that in the New Year,” he added.
