Pierce Brosnan has revealed there wont be a gay James Bond any time soon.
The Irish actor played 007 in four blockbuster movies before being replaced by Daniel Craig.
With rumours swirling that Idris Elba may be the first black actor to play Bond – Pierce weighed in on whether audiences will ever see a gay 007.
Producers: Pierce reckons Bond producers wouldn’t allow a gay Bond
“Sure. Why not?” he said, before adding: “Actually, I don’t know how it would work.”
“I don’t think [Bond producer] Barbara [Broccoli] would allow a gay Bond to happen in her lifetime. But it would certainly make for interesting viewing.”
The Navan native reckons the franchise should find a good black actor first to take on the iconic role.

“Let’s start with a great black actor being James Bond,” he told Details Magazine.
“Idris Elba certainly has the physicality, the charisma, the presence. But I think Daniel [Craig] will be there for a while yet.”
