The International Ladies Polo event kicked off on Thursday in style with polo fans, celebrities and friends of The Julian Benson Foundation all donning their finest to support the charity.

Celebrating its 20th year, this glamorous event is a highlight of the social calendar combining a day of rousing sport, fabulous fashion and wonderful entertainment.

After being trained by Wicklow Polo, stars like Erin McGregor, Eoghan McDermott, James Kavanagh, Niamh Cullen, Wayne Walsh, and Devon Murray took part in a game of polo – all in the name of charity.

Guests on the day included Claudine Keane, James Patrice, Clementine MacNiece, Aidan Power and many more – who enjoyed a full day of polo, a sumptuous 3 course lunch held in a luxurious marquee, and live entertainment.

Since its inception just under a year ago, the charity has made tremendous progress towards its goal of building a home-from-home for people with Cystic Fibrosis.

Founder Julian Benson commented: “We have had a wonderful day of polo and entertainment, it was a great way to raise funds for the foundation.”

“We couldn’t have done it without the support of our wonderful sponsors, with special thanks to The Mercantile group.”

“We were honoured to have been chosen by the Ladies Polo Day as the beneficiary of the event, and the funds raised today will go towards our vital projects, helping those in Ireland affected by Cystic Fibrosis.”
