Musical chairs: Kathryn Thomas and Dave Fanning to replace radio heavyweights

RTE Radio continues to undergo some big changes lately with the replacement for John Murray on Radio 1 still to be announced.

Brendan O’Connor is currently filling in for the slot vacated by John Murray while Dave Fanning will take over the airwaves for in the month of August.

Kathryn Thomas recently filled in for Ray on Radio 1 in his 3pm slot and will return again to cover for the radio star for the last two weeks of August.

Meanwhile, Derek Mooney who previously left the slot currently occupied by Ray will return with a light entertainment show on Saturdays on RTE Radio 1 at 6pm from August.

RTE presenter Stephen Byrne is currently filling in for Ryan Tubridy for the next two weeks on 2fm’s 9am slot.

The station will soon announce the replacement for John Murray after his radio show was axed after five years.
