Fair City star Maclean Burke has revealed he’s constantly in fear that his character will be killed off.
The actor, who plays Damien Halpin in the RTE soap, has starred on the show for 10 years and admitted he’s “grown-up” on it.
“We all fear that moment when your character is going to be given the boot,” he said.

“We all know it could happen eventually, but you have to keep going. I love Fair City, I’ve grown up in there and everything I have is because of it, so I’ll always be grateful.”
Meanwhile, Maclean has been cast in a new spin-off of popular BBC children’s programme Roy – called Little Roy.
“I play the dad in Little Roy, which is great fun. We’ll be filming 52 episodes over the next couple of weeks,” he told the Herald.
“It’s brilliant craic and it’s nice to step out of the comfort zone as well.”
