The Hidden Figures star’s dress was definitely the biggest on the red carpet, and one of the most daring.
Janelle teamed the Elie Saab Couture creation with a gold leaf tiara in her short hair, and finished off her look with dramatic make-up.
The 31-year-old was at the ceremony for Moonlight and Hidden Figures, which are both among the Best Picture nominees.

Mahershala Ali won Best Supporting Actor for Moonlight, which was up for eight awards in total including Best Director and Best Supporting Actress for Naomie Harris.
Hidden Figures was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Octavia Spencer, who lost out to Fences’ Viola Davis, and Best Adapted Screenplay.
During the show, Janelle, Octavia and Taraji P. Henson brought Katherine Watson onto the stage.
