The Best Dressed Lady of the Galway Races has been crowned.
The lucky lady is Cork native Alex Butler who wowed the judges in a flashy red ensemble.
“I’m absolutely delighted, I can’t believe I’ve won. I’m shocked,” she told Goss.ie.
“My hat is from Jennifer Wrynne, my dress is from Vanilla Boutique in Fermoy, my bag is from a little shop in Cork called Magnolia and the shoes are Christian Louboutin,” she revealed.
Chuffed: Alex Butler won Best Dressed
Alex came well prepared for Ladies Day and had her outfit picked out months in advance.
“I bought my dress for a wedding in May and I thought I might as well get the use out of it and wear it for Galway,” she said.
“The hat I decided around December last year I wanted a Jennifer Wrynne hat made, I got it about three weeks ago.”
“This is my sixth year going to Galway and I’ve only ever been to Mallow Races and I was picked as a finalist there as well.”
Lucky: The judges crowned Alex the winner
“I actually won Best Hat here two years ago as well,” she admitted.
Alex walked away with  a shopping spree at the Kilkenny store, a bespoke piece of Waterford Crystal, and a 5 star luxury break from Ireland’s Bluebook.
