Aoibhinn McGinnity may have landed a major role on a U.S show but the brunette beauty has revealed she was surprised by her sudden success.
Speaking exclusively to Goss.ie, the actress admitted she was shocked to have landed her first U.S role with major TV station HBO so soon.
“I’m really excited about it, I mean I didn’t expect my foot to be in door in America so soon,” she said.

The rising star will be playing the role of Mary in new series Quarry – based on the novels by Max Allan Collins.
“It was one of my favourite characters to read for literally I actually enjoyed the audition and I enjoyed meeting the cast and director ,” she told Goss.ie.
The Monaghan native was cast the part by Alexa Fogul whose been the casting director for hit-shows including True Detective and The Wire.
“Alexa Fogul and I got to meet in a casting situation and she was just such a pro and such a warm person but such a professional, she’s inspiring,” she admitted.

The Irish actress rose to fame on crime-drama Love/Hate but the successful star remains as modest as ever when talking about her upcoming roles.
“I’ll embrace whatever is coming my way there’s been bits coming my way and it’s keeping me fine and then after that I’ll go to America again,” she revealed.
The Love/Hate star revealed she’ll be returning Stateside for Quarry with the hopes of landing another role.
“Once it’s aired I’m going to go over and back to that and sort of just see what else is happening,” she added.
