Dublin set for 'Rockefeller-style Christmas tree' thanks to new festival

It seems it’s never too soon to talk about the festive season in Ireland.

Dublin’s Lord Mayor Críona Ní Dhálaigh has announced that Dublin will host a brand new Christmas festival called I Believe.

The festival will create 230 seasonal jobs and reportedly inject €8.4m into the economy, and will run for 28 days in the lead-up to Christmas.

There’s already 10,000 visitors expected per day, and the festival will focus on supporting Irish businesses, traders, craftspeople, producers and charities from November 26th until December 23rd.

But the most exciting part is that the whole festival will be centred around a gigantic 50 foot tall “Rockefeller-style” Christmas tree.

It will all take place in the setting of Custom House Quarter – which includes George’s Dock, The chq Building and al the surrounding areas.

As well as the huge Christmas tree and a traditional festive market, I Believe will have a dedicated Scandinavian lodge-themed lounge, which will provide a location for an office Christmas party with a difference.
