Downton Abbey actress Michelle Dockery’s Irish boyfriend John Dineen has passed away.
According to the Irish Examiner, the British star’s partner died in Cork’s Marymount Hospice on Sunday morning after battling a long illness.
The 34-year-old, who worked in financial PR in London, is believed to have started seeing Michelle in 2013 after being introduced by her Downton Abbey co-star, Allen Leech.

Although it was reported earlier this year that they had got engaged – the couple remained private on their relationship.
“I have a wonderful man in my life from Ireland. We were introduced by Allen Leech. That’s all you need to know,” she said previously.
A spokesperson for the family told Mirror Online, John’s family are grateful for the outpouring of support and kindness.

“The family is very grateful for the support and kindness they have received but would kindly request that they are left to grieve in private.”
A funeral service is expected to take place in Cork on Wednesday, December 16.
