It’s handy having all of your family in showbusiness – especially when you don’t show up to an awards show.
Domhnall Gleeson proved he was the best son as he accepted dad Brendan Gleeson’s award tonight for Best Supporting Actor at the British Independent Film Awards.
Brendan won the gong for his role in Suffragette, a British historical period drama also starring Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, Ben Whishaw, and Meryl Streep.
Accepting the award for his dad, Domhnall said: “He told me to accept in case he won, which he knew he would.”
But not only is Domhnall a great son, he’s a great friend too – as he also accepted the Best Actor award on behalf of Tom Hardy.
Taking to the stage again Domhnall laughed: “I had nothing to do with this film.”
