David McSavage lashes out at IFTA nominations

David McSavage has lashed out at the IFTAS after his flick Traders failed to get a single nomination at this year’s awards.

The critically acclaimed Irish thriller, which featured a number of the cast of Love/Hate, including lead Killian Scott, was snubbed by the film academy much to David’s dismay.

“Come on IFTA. It’s not like films like Brooklyn need any more attention?” he told the Irish Sun.

“The IFTAs should be about celebrating and championing little Irish films.

“It’s sh***y of the IFTAs not to give Traders a nod, especially as I wore only underpants in my scene,” he added.

However, an IFTA spokeswoman insisted this year the film academy saw a record breaking number of Irish movies competing for a nomination.

“Because there were more Irish films in competition this year than ever before, 19 Irish movies in all, it was no doubt even more difficult for all of the films to get nominated,” they said.
