RTE presenter Claire Byrne has said being a full-time mum is much harder than her role in RTE.
The Laois native, who is mum to Patrick, two, and 11-month-old Jane, admitted going back to work on her show Claire Byrne Live will be a break.
“My brother said to me the other day, ‘You’re back at work for the break’ and in a way he’s right,” she said.

“I find that bringing up two babies much tougher than work. I like to be in control and when you have a toddler and a baby, you’re not.”
Despite looking forward to going back to work, the broadcaster admitted becoming a mum has changed her priorities – revealing her focus is now firmly on her family.
“My ultimate focus is my family, like it is for many people,” she told the RTE Guide.

“At the earlier stages in my life I would have been more focused on my career but life is healthier now.”
“I have a good balance but having said that, I’m absolutely delighted to be back. I was counting down the days to when I was coming back,” she added.
“No, I love my job and always have but now I have other things to love too.”
