Cecelia Ahern: 'I won't push for my new film to be made in Ireland'

Cecelia Ahern has revealed unlike her previous film adaptions, she won’t be pushing for her latest novel, Flawed, to be filmed in Ireland.

The Dublin native and author of PS, I love you and Love, Rosie has said that this time around she will not push producers when it comes to location.

“I’ve always pushed for previous films to be filmed here but I think at this stage, it’s just important to just get things made,” she said.

“It’s good to have as much Irish involvement as possible but they are American producers and so I have to respect that as well.”

As Flaws is set in a fictitious country,  Cecelia said producers will have complete control when it comes to location.

After big screen adaptations of her novels PS I Love You and Where Rainbows End, the author admitted she’s overjoyed with the news of a third film adaptation.

“I’m absolutely thrilled. It’s the same team who were behind PS I Love You and since then we’ve wanted to work together, so it’s brilliant,” she told the Herald.

Cecelia is currently working on the sequel of Flawed which is entitled Perfect, and the story has already been optioned for film.

“I’m working on the sequel now, which is called Perfect, and they have optioned both of them so they could make one movie or three.”
