Famous Irish mammy Agnes Brown could be kissing a new lover under the mistletoe in this years Christmas special.
The man behind the Mrs Brown character Brendan O’Carroll revealed the plans as the show began rehearsals for its Christmas special this week in Scotland.
“We are just recording them over the next two weeks. There are two again this year, and the audience can expect the usual Brown family stuff – except this year Agnes may have a lover,” he told the Sun.

The Irish funny-man wouldn’t reveal whether Mrs Brown’s love interest will be a man or woman, however one thing is for sure – Grandad won’t be impressed and we can’t imagine he’ll like anyone taking the place of his late son Redser.
Last year’s Christmas special proved extremely popular with it being viewed by over one million people in Ireland and over 15 million in the UK, making the special the most watched show of the festive period.
The live show is also set to return this year to Dublin’s 3Arena before Christmas. The show will run from December 15th to December 19th.
