Awkward! TV3 blasted by viewers after unveiling 'terrible' new Ireland AM set

TV3 have been criticised by viewers after revealing their new set for Ireland AM.

The broadcaster unveiled their new set in Ballymount and viewers were quick to blast the new design.

A far cry from the red and dark  purple were all used to, with baby pink, mustard yellow and clashing patterns – one viewer compared it to a tacky “ice cream shop”.

Another internet user wrote:  Too much colour..looks like a kids playroom” , “ Absolutely Awful. The colours are giving me a headache,” another added.

“Garish colours, looks like a playschool, awful”,

One viewer even blasted: “Ireland Am should have a competition for a viewer to design another new set, awful.”

” There is only one word for new set horrific. Trendy or not its awful. It’s like a brunch bar exploded all over the set!” another viewer blasted.

TV3 designed the new set as they are now in full HD.

Presenters Alan Hughes, Mark Cagney, Anna Daly and Sinead Desmond happily posed for pictures on the new set.

Clashing patterns: Orange patterned wallpaper and baby pinks.. a good look?

The change comes ahead of TV3 launching their new schedule next week.

The launch is set to include details of their highly anticipated new Soap Red Rock.
