River Island have announced William Shannon Doyle as the winner of their Fashion Design Bursary.
The 22-year-old was chosen from a number of up-and-coming designers to receive a €3,500 bursary and a paid 3 month internship in River Island’s design studio in London.
Supporting Irish design, the retailer asked this year’s N.C.A.D. students to create a capsule collection for River Island Spring Summer 2016.

Judged by River Island Design Controller Lucy Moller, who was the 2006 bursary winner, was impressed with the Templeogue native’s design inspired by 1950’s travel wear.
Vintage luggage inspired the finishing’s for the garments where functionality meets luxury.
The outfit comprises of a red skirt with black detailing, a black top and bomber jacket – complemented with a silk clutch bag.
