Ivan Yates is departing Newstalk.
The veteran broadcaster is stepping down from all of his media commitments with the aim of taking a year’s sabbatical with his wife Deirdre.
The presenter currently hosts the Breakfast Show on Newstalk from 6:30am to 10:00am and will be leaving in July.

Ivan is also set to step down from his other jobs as a presenter on  TV3 and a columnist for the Irish Independent.
In a statement on behalf of the radio host, it was confirmed he had made the decision to leave over a year ago in March 2015.
The 56-year-old previously left Ireland in 2012 to move to Swansea, Wales after he declared bankruptcy and qualified for Britain’s more relaxed bankruptcy laws.

Ivan returned to Ireland in August of 2013 and resumed his role on Newstalk.
According to the Irish Times, Ivan may be gearing up to leave the country again after his contract is up.
The station have said they wish their host “the very best” and thanked him for his contribution to the station.
