Jack Reynor: 'It would be brilliant to have a role on Fair City'

Jack Reynor has admitted he would love “a small role” on RTE soap Fair City.

Despite being rumoured to play Han Solo in an upcoming Star Wars reboot, the talented actor revealed he is a fan of the long-running drama and would love to “pull a few pints behind the bar” on the show.

“I think that would be brilliant, man. I’d love it. Just a small little role,” he said.

New career path: Jack admitted he’d would love a cameo on RTE’s Fair City | PATRICK O’LEARY

“Breeze in, cause a bit of mayhem you know, pull a few pints behind the bar. A bit of drama and be gone again.

“A couple of friends of mine have worked on Fair City and it’s a fantastic show with so much Irish talent from the Dublin stage, some legendary names there, it would be a great opportunity,” he told The Sun on Sunday.

“I mean, it’s probably not going to happen anytime soon but who knows?”

Currently starring in John Carney’s Sing Street, the Irish flick boasts a major soundtrack with songs performed from the cast- however despite his efforts, Jack didn’t lend his talents to the music.

Music: Jack revealed there’s no plans to pursue a singing career | PATRICK O’LEARY

“I was hoping it would happen. Pretty badly. I’d arrive on set and say, ‘Hey John, listen to this,’ and sing him some god awful tune … it was never going to happen,” he laughed.

Although the 24-year-old can indeed sing, the Macbeth star admitted he would never pursue a career.

“You know, I’m not terrible but it’s been a long time since I’ve sung properly, I’d be very frightened to do it,” he said.

“And because it’s been so long, I don’t know if I’d really want to subject anyone to it.”
