Simon Delaney insists: 'I'm not leaving Ireland' as film career takes off

Simon Delaney has insisted his burgeoning film career wont get in the way of his TV commitments.

The 45-year-old is starring in The Conjuring 2, the sequel to the highly successful horror movie that grossed over $300m at the box office.

The TV star presents Saturday AM alongside Anna Daly and revealed he has no plans to leave Ireland anytime soon as his wife Lisa is expecting their fourth child.

“I’m here now for a while and I’m loving the show,” he said.

“I’m doing Driving Miss Daisy at The Gaiety and we’ve also got baby number four on the way. My wife is seventh months pregnant now so she is due this May.”

Speaking at the launch of the Bord Bia Ham and Bacon campaign, the Dublin native insisted he’s committed to making Saturday AM a success.

“We’re only six months on the air,” he told The Herald.

“Presenting is fine. It’s just having a chat with someone and people are pointing cameras at you. I love it because we’re keeping it light.”

Simon plays an English man in the flick, which is based on the real like Enfield hauntings that took place in the suburbs of London in 1977.

“It’s the first studio movie I’ve done and it was shot on the lot in Warner Bros, which was amazing in itself,” he said.

Simon s the new ambassador for the Bord Bia Ham and Bacon – A Family Favourite campaign, which runs from March 7th to March 20th.
