Rachel Wyse has backed the motion for Sky Sports to start covering women’s GAA.
The Dubliner, who is preparing to cover the GAA season on Sky for the third time this summer, admitted that she would “definitely welcome” the coverage of ladies’ GAA on the channel.
“It is something that I would definitely welcome,” she said.

“I can only speak from my own perspective but I know women’s sport is a big priority within Sky Sports.
“We have a programme that runs every Tuesday called SportsWomen and it is all about celebrating female athletes in the UK and Ireland, for example, Katie Taylor… I think the more coverage the better,” she told the Herald.
Speaking about the confusion amongst British viewers when the UK broadcaster won rights to broadcast a part of the 2014 GAA championship, the 31-year-old insisted that they have become a lot more familiar with the sport now.

“After the first year of going ‘what is this all about’, I think viewers in the UK are a lot more familiar with the sports now and the figures are growing.
