Linda Martin has slammed chances that Nicky Byrne will win the Eurovision this year with his song Sunlight.
The 68-year-old, who took the Eurovision crown back in 1992 with Why Me, doesn’t believe the former Westlife star’s song is good enough to win the song contest in Stockholm this May – but she thinks he’ll almost get there.
“I have heard Nicky and I wish him the very best…Â I think we will make it out of the semi-final but I don’t think we’ll win.

“I have only seen Nicky’s song – I haven’t heard or seen anybody else’s song so I’m a little bit behind things this year,” she told the Herald.
While Linda’s Eurovision glory days are well and truly behind her, she’s still keeping busy thanks to her success from the competition, and alongside none other than Johnny Logan.
“On Eurovision night, I am going to Frankfurt to work on an open-air concert with Johnny Logan so I won’t be at home to see it.
“I have worked with him hundreds of times at this stage, so it will be good fun,” she added.
