Idris Elba is reported to have been on the charm offensive after Sunday night’s BAFTAs – raising some eyebrows with his playful clinch with Michael Fassbender’s girlfriend Alicia Vikander.
The award-winning actress had walked hand-in-hand with beau Michael into the official dinner at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel but as the couple briefly party, Idris stepped in – allegedly stroking each other’s backs.
“They were locked in a very long conversation. He was touching her back, she then rubbed his,” said an onlooker.

“They’re actors so are pretty affectionate with each other and are probably friends from the circuit.
“But it was still a little surprising and people were talking,” a source told the Sun.
The reports come as the Kerryman awkwardly snubbed the Swedish actress during the kisscam segment of the ceremony.

The paper also reported that BAFTA winner Leonardo Di Caprio was later heard talking to friends about the awkward encounter.
“They’re together. But he [Michael] was saying, ‘My thing with this girl is not for the world’,” he said.
However, Spotlight actor Mark Ruffalo apparently disagreed with the 38-year-old’s actions.
“That girl wanted to be kissed. What’s his problem?” Mark added.
