Nikki Hayes has opened up on her scary recent health scare.
The radio presenter became very sick over Christmas and thought that she had a winter vomiting bug before she was admitted to Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown.
Doctors carried out a number of test to discover the cause of the Spin 1038 star’s pain and discovered that she was suffering with appendecitis.
Scary: Nikki was rushed to hospital after a health scare
“I’m the most unfortunate person in the world. I just thought I had the vomiting bug, so I was out of work on the Tuesday and then I went into Connolly hospital on the Wednesday,” she said.
“They initially said that it was appendicitis, then they thought it was something else, so they monitored me for a few hours.”
“I told the nurse that it was the nearest I felt to labour pains – which we’re meant to forget about,” she told The Herald.

The 36-year-old was in hospital for four days while she recovered from the operation but confirmed that she is “all good now” as she gears up to return to the airwaves this week.
The radio host has had health issues in the past and has previously admitted to suffering from depression.
