“I have started the new year with auditions and writing, because we really want to bring Bolt to the next level,” she told the Herald.

The film is based on her novel, I Wished For You, released in 2012 which follows the story of a young woman who leaves her long-term partner and runs away from her responsibilities.

Amy has been confirmed to play the lead role of Grace, while the film is being produced by Irish production company Treasure Entertainment – the same company that made Irish comedy The Stag back in 2013.

“We’ve been through a couple of drafts, so we are just at the point now where we are going out to directors. Very soon we will be going out to the market,” said producer Rebecca O’Flanagan.
