Jennifer and Bernard on Bridget & Eamon: '10 percent of Mrs Browns success would be amazing'

Jennifer Zamparelli has admitted that if her new show Bridget & Eamon got 10 percent of Mrs Browns Boys success it would be “amazing”.

The 2FM star and her on-screen husband Bernard O’Shea were speaking at a preview screening of RTÉ2’s Bridget & Eamon, and the pair were asked if they’d like the show to reach the same level of success as Brendan O’Carroll’s Mrs Browns Boys.

“F**k yeah!” Jennifer told Goss.ie.

“We made the show for Irish people in Ireland with an Irish crew, Irish actors, Irish scriptwriters, you know we made an Irish show for Irish telly – if thats takes off, brilliant!”

Success: Jennifer would love to see her new show be as big as Mrs Browns | VIPIRELAND.COM

“Of course we’d love it to be successful… ten percent of Mrs Browns success would be amazing,” she replied.

While the comedy-duo would love for their show to be as successful as Mrs Browns Boys, Bernard is unsure they could reach those heights due to the experience Brendan O’Carroll has.

“Brendan O’Carroll has that wealth of experience – he could probably do higher, better episodes than we could where we are right now, so that would be difficult.

“But you know, yeah Jesus I would love that, we’d love to do live shows, we’d love to do that but like we’ll have to wait to see how the public react.

Real life: Bernard describes their relationship like a “married couple without all the sex” | YOUTUBE

“If we had 1/16th of the success that Brendan O’Carroll has with Mrs Browns Boys we’d be very happy, very happy,” he added.

Meanwhile, Bernard described his and Jennifer’s relationship like “a real life married couple without all the sex” and said that being around each other for six weeks of filming was tough.

“It was like a self imposed imprisonment, but yeah we nearly killed each other but we got through it,” he told Goss.ie.

“If you spend that amount of time with somebody, it gets kind of strange but I’m glad I did it now.”

Catch the hilarious first episode of Bridget & Eamon on Monday February 1 at 10pm on RTÉ2.
