U2 are doing the Irish proud as they have been nominated for a Brit Award in the International Group Category.
The Irish rock band are joined in their category by Eagles of Death Metal, who they shared their stage with in Paris back in December, as well as Alabama Shakes, Major Lazer and Tame Impala.
Another Irish artist that will be very happy with the nominations announcement is our Mullingar man Niall Horan as One Direction have been nominated for British Group and British Artist Video of the Year for their hit song Drag Me Down.
Gongs all round: One Direction are also up for a Brit Award in TWO categories
Despite the band currently being on a very controversial hiatus, hopefully they will reunite for the awards ceremony next month.
The Brit Awards 2016 will take place on February 24 at the O2 Arena in London.
